Today's Mission: Declutter your dishware

Dishware!

We almost always have way. too. much. dishware.

As you start to go through this area, pull the things aside that you simply never use. Let it go.

Water glasses and coffee mugs are easy to collect, but try this. Grab each one, one by one, and ask yourself if it's a favorite. Is it one that you reach for each morning if it's clean? Or is it one you move aside to get to the ones you love?

If it isn't one you love, let it go. You don't have to hold onto it simply because you got it on vacation or it's a gift from your your Aunt last Christmas.

As for dishware like bowls, plates etc. - when you have excess of these - you tend to have more dishes.

Hear me out.

You eat something, get the plate dirty, put it on the counter, get hungry again later, get a new plate, set it in the sink, and it continues all day (or weekend) long. When we have less - it's easier to simply rinse it off or wipe it clean and use it again, resulting in A TON of saved time at the end of the day.

I get asked a lot for # recommendations when it comes to this stuff, and I don't like to give specific numbers since everyone's situation is different - but I'll tell you what we do!

+2 dinner plates per person

+2 salad plates per (adult) person

+2 cereal bowls per person

+2 soup bowls per person

+3 water glasses per person

If you are wanting to try this whole ruthless thing but it makes you nervous to cut down so much, take the excess and put it in storage for 30 days. If you manage well in that time period, then you'll know you are good to donate. If you find yourself constantly going to get more - then maybe we need to re-evaluate - but we also probably need to look into systems and routines also!

Alright, you ready? Let's do this! Post your before's and after's in the group!
