Happy Friday!
One of the questions I get most often is about the actual things I buy for my own home and daily mom life. What makes the cut? What doesn't? How do I decide?
You know me.... I believe everything we own should have a home. If it doesn't, it either needs to go, or something else needs to go to make room for it. (I am the DECLUTTERED mom, after all!)
That philosophy applies to everything I bring into my house, which means when something actually earns a permanent spot, it's because it's genuinely pulling its weight.
So I thought it would be fun to share the items that have earned their spot. Every weekend I'll share the top 5 things I'm loving and using right now, and exactly why they make my life easier as a busy mom. Not a sponsored roundup - just the stuff that made my life easier this past week.
Here's this week's five:
1. The Bentgo bento box
We've used these for more than 6 years, but our current set we've had for over 3 years - we washed in the dishwasher every single time...and they STILL look brand new. If you have kids and you're packing lunches or pool snacks, this is the container that actually holds up. (It also does a good job of keeping the food separate due to the design. Grab a set of four here on Amazon.
2. The Bentgo stainless steel snack tray
This one is brand new to us but already earning its place. The stainless steel isn't as important to us - but I know it's so important to so many. Miss 9 is obsessed with it for her afternoon snacks at camp as it's easy to open and has 2 separate compartments. Bentgo Stainless Steel Snack Tray.
3. The Pony Pick
If you have a daughter with hair that you use tiny elastics in, you need this immediately. It's a small tool that slides under a hair elastic and cuts it out without pulling a single hair. No more crying at the end of pool day trying to get the knots out. Miss 12 and Miss 9 both have long hair, and we use it every single day. There is 3 in the pack and we keep one in my bathroom, one in the kitchen hair drawer, and one in my purse. Under $10 on Amazon. 3 pack set here.
4. Fairy Tales Chlorine Shampoo + Conditioner
Pool hair is its own category of damage. This shampoo and conditioner is specifically formulated for kids who are in the water all summer. It gets the chlorine out without leaving their hair dry and brittle. We started using it last summer and the difference is real. I just ordered more of this set that has the full-size shampoo, conditioner, and detangle spray.
And this is a trial size if you want to try first!
5. Hard case zipper containers for the pool bag
These keep your pool bag from becoming a disaster zone. Sunscreen doesn't leak on everything, snacks don't get crushed, and you can actually find what you're looking for. I grab the whole set out of one bag and drop it into the next one without repacking. This set has four containers.
See you next weekend with five more, but let me know if you have any questions at all on these items! I hope this is a fun and helpful addition to my content!
PS - If there is a specific item or category of item's you'd love to hear my opinion on/what i'm using in my home - just dm me and let me know and i'm happy to help! (or e-mail [email protected])
